Telemedicine: This segment is involved in using telecommunication and information technology to help deliver clinical health care services remotely, including diagnosis, treatment, and patient monitoring. Examples include:

Primary care and specialist referral service: This may involve a primary care or allied health professional who provides a consulation services to a patient, or to a specialist assisting the primary care physician in rendering a diagnosis. It often involves the use of live interactive video and/or the transmission of diagnostic images, vital signs, and/or video clips, along with patient data for later review.

Remote patient monitoring: This involves the use of devices to remotely collect and send data to a home health agency, or to a Remote Diagnostic Testing Facility (RDTF) for interpretation. Such applications might include ital signs such as blood glucose, ECG, or a variety of indicators for home-bound patients. Such services may be used to supplement the use of visiting nurses.
